Bethany Presbyterian Church
Friday Night Community Meals
Bethany, along with several partner churches, offers a Community Meal dinner almost every Friday evening. (There is no meal on the third Friday of the month) The dinner is open to all who are hungry or in need of table fellowship. Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. The doors are open at 5:00 p.m. for coffee and conversation in the Fellowship Hall. Volunteers are welcome. Often left-overs and pasties are available to take home. To read more about the meals, look under the Ministries heading.
The Plot Against Hunger
Bethany Presbyterian Church began plotting against hunger, garden plotting that is. You will notice four garden beds next to the playground. These have been planted with assorted healthy and nutritious vegetables, in season, which when ready for harvest will be used by and disbursed at the Community Meal on Friday nights. The beds were built with help from Key Bank volunteers who gave an afternoon of their time to serve the community.
If you have any interest in spending a few moments playing in the dirt, weeding, watering, and generally helping to maintain the beds, please let Rosa know.
“Everything that slows us down and forces patience, everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help. Gardening is an instrument of grace.” May Sarton
